We want you to get excited when you think of our gift baskets. There’s so much fun to be had when you look at each individual item, and find something new with each one. Our baskets are an experience – one that you will relive every time you dig in to a new treat. They remind you of just how thoughtful someone has been to you, and let you try things you may have never thought to try before.
Our New Products Team is always striving to find new ideas for gift baskets that look great and taste exceptional, and bring adventure to people each day. Today, we are sharing something we find sadly lacking in the gift basket world: gifts for people with dietary restrictions.
Introducing: Vegan Gift Baskets!
Maybe it’s because they’re called “gift baskets” and not “an amazing collection of beautiful and delicious treats”, but we find that people are still fixated on the basket part of things. While wicker baskets and wooden crates themselves are 100% vegan, we were determined to find something a little bit more palatable to fill them with.
Considering vegans don’t consume any animal products, or substances derived from animals, there are many things we cannot include in our vegan gifts. Things like gourmet meats, cheeses, and honeys are not okay to have, and any baked goods that include eggs or butter are a no-go, too. But despite having many restrictions, we were sold on the idea, and knew that Vegan Gift Baskets could still be a beautiful gift for our vegan customers to enjoy.
What do Vegans Eat?
Fruit, for starters! And that makes our fruit baskets perfect for your vegan gift recipient. Exotic fruits can still be a stunning gift, but for those that are more indulgent, everyday items like a high-quality dark chocolate are naturally vegan, too. Most beer, wine, and liquor is also vegan, with a few exceptions, so don’t be afraid to get sumptuous.
But if that doesn’t tickle your fancy…
Vegan baked goods are a rapidly growing interest, and getting increasingly delicious by the day. New developments in food technology make it easier for people to get access to the nutrients they need in legumes, whole grains, dark leafy greens, and calcium-fortified products that were once scarce and hard to find. Vegan cookies especially are our favourites, and there are endless companies in Canada and the United States that are beginning to realize the need to make vegan foods available to us.
Yorkville will continue to strive to make delicious vegan baskets to meet the growing needs of a developing society in which people have new requests for baskets every day. For now, feel free to check out our vegan gift baskets collection, or customize your own gift basket.
Halloween is one of the most beloved holidays after Christmas, and for good reason. Who doesn’t love a great Halloween party or a horror movie marathon? Not to mention kids trick-or-treating, their bags filling up with chocolates, candy, and snacks.
For an occasion that is deeply rooted in the concept of community, it can be a little hard to adapt to the new normal that is 2020. But that certainly doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop. Halloween is always special, and this year you can make it a truly indulgent affair with family at home. Skip the grand Halloween events and let the party come to you, with irresistible toffees, truffles and other sweet treats that are perfect for the most chilling night of the year.
Happy Valentine’s Day! If you can, spend some time with that special someone and impress them with a fantastic experience. If you take some time to do a little preparation for this Valentine’s Day, you’re sure to put together something they’ll love. Pairing chocolate with the right wine can bring out the best in both and if you have one in mind, you may want to choose the second to match.
While “the more the merrier” is a fabulous motto for a traditional Christmas gathering, this year “the smaller the safer” is what we all need to remember for the people in our bubble as the big day arrives. Here are a few things to remind you of the magic of Christmas that can be celebrated, even from afar.
